What is a better laptop? Acer or Compaq?
What can you say about Acer laptops? How about Compaq laptops?
Compaq has actually been around since the early ’80s. However, they have been bought out by HP, which is a good manufacturer. I have owned several Compaq desktop computers, and a couple of HP laptops with good luck.
My belief is that most modern computers are very comparable.
As far as laptops, they are all very similar until you get into the “rugged” computers.
I would recommend a laptop that offers “fall protection” – it parks the HDD heads when it senses that it is falling, preventing lost data. You could also get one with a “solid state” HDD, with no moving parts – they are coming way down in price. Both Acer and HP/Compaq have these options.
